Last year I had a Winchester Cathedral rose bush that sported a large beautiful rose that was split in color, red on the bottom half and white on the top. It was like a rose from Alice in Wonderland. I took a couple of pictures of it, luckily. I went back out an hour later to look at it, and it was gone. A squirrel had eaten the whole thing, I found a few scattered petals on the ground where it had been. And I live in the city and have a container garden out back, and squirrels are my biggest pests.
