In my property, I have a garden 70 x 20. Then on containers, on the deck, I have about 70 containers full of perennials, that I cannot put in the garden due to back problems.

Then, I have these four flying squirrels that go from tree to tree, and they are getting into my containers, putting holes everywhere. I stay home a lot to chase them away, then leave the house at 7 pm, since they do not come back at that time. My neighbors must think I am going crazy, because I take a kitchen pot, and a large steel spoon, and chase them out temporarily, making lots of noise.

What can I do without killing them? Thank you,

Move!
Or pick up some granular rodent repellent to sprinkle in each pot. Will have to reapply roughly every two weeks til they get the idea.

Flying squirrels are nocturnal....do you mean you see them during the day?

Get a dog. It will keep the squirrels away. Even a cat will scare them back up a tree.

Excellent thought, except by the time I am able to buy the netting, they have created havoc in my garden.

So go buy it at night when They aren't so active
At least that's what you said.

I'd get the hardware cloth metal wire fencing and use tgat instead.

We have chippy monks and regular squirrels that attack my garden, I use the hardware cloth metal fencing around my raised beds as I have back problems too.

Tgete, are, several cage fencing ideas on Pinterest. Look at them and adapt to use for your needs.

I found the rodent and animal repellents not work. When rain comes you have to reapply constantly, and in many cases tgey ignore it.

Good luck.
