I am growing vegetables for the first time ever. Can anyone please tell me what is the brown spot on my Bell Pepper? The leaves are all fine. but few weeks back, just after the rains, there was some fungus on the potting mix around the base of the plant. I scooped it up and threw it away and kept the pot in direct sun. That seemed to resolve the fungus issue.

Blossom end rot caused by a lack of calcium (lime) and magnesium. It can also be caused by irregular watering the plant drying out and then heavily watered.

I didn't know Blossom End rot can start on the sides too. I had seen the pictures for Blossom end rot and thought that could not be the case because the bottom end looks completely fine.
