I planted one of these about 5 years ago. Can't remember what it is. It is not a bad flower as it is kind of pretty but its SO INVASIVE. I ripped out most of them last fall and of course they are popping up everywhere in my flower beds. They start out looking like grass but have a purple line running through the leaves. It really takes over and I can't stand that. Arghhhhhh
The flowers open in the morning and stay open till mid afternoon then close up again.

this is a spider wart. You have to use your garden spade & dig down deep & get the whole root to get rid of it. If you like it keep it contained in just one spot & if one pops up in your garden somewhere else dig it up & throw it away. It spreads really fast so keep an eye on it.
