I have one in my backyard in the sun. The man next door has one in his front yard in the sun. Mine is about the same size as his. Mine has lots of leaves and no blooms. His has lots of leaves and beautiful red blooms. What am I doing wrong? Something is not making mine happy.
Yeah, I was going to ask if you had pruned it, as crape myrtle blooms on new growth. Are they the same variety? My experience with crape myrtle is that they really like to be left alone.
OK, I get it. I transplanted it last Fall/winter. I did a bad thing. I can't ask the man anything cause he doesn't talk to me. I hope I didn't upset the plant too much by moving it. It does have buds and is in full sun so I will just wait. Thank you.

Not really. That's actually when it's not bad to transplant a treeish plant. If you cut it back then you'd still have new growth this year for flowering.
One of the things many do is called pollarding, cutting the crape back to nubs. Sprouts come out and flower. As a note, pollarding is also called "crape murder".
