It's too bad they don't make 2 stroke mowers anymore. They are very very light compared to the 4 strokes they put on mowers now.
If you have a very small flat yard, a battery mower is a good option. But then again, a corded electric would be too and they are far far cheaper, much lighter, and will run as long as you need. Beyond that, stick to some sort of gasoline.
Using the self propel part will really eat the battery. I have the same mower and can mow most of the large yard on one charge without using the self-propel part over 1 hour). Using it, the battery barely lasts 20 minutes
Thanks for the reminder about not storing it with a full charge. I do recall reading that. I keep the mower in the garage and the battery in the kitchen closet since this is Florida and the garage gets pretty hot. We still haven't done the front as we have had rain. Going to try it today and determine if it's a keeper or not.

On July 1st of 2019 Australia is banning the sale of any new 2-cycle equipment: Emissions crackdown to slash sale of two-stroke lawn mowers, outboard motors - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation). That goes for their leaf blowers, weed eaters, chainsaws and any hand held equipment. I presume that will happen to us eventually. I dread that day. As far as I know it will add weight to my favorite tools. I'm getting older and I like the light weight chainsaws, string trimmers, leaf blowers. Heck; I like all my 2-cycle equipment!
Had my Ego for a year and it has been rock solid for FL mowing.
Saw those there at Home Depot but they were more expensive; I don't want to spend over $500 for a lawnmower. If this one doesn't work out I may just get another gas mower but this time self propelled.
Take the battery out of the charger, dont just unplug it. I have a LI trimmer, and if I leave the battery in the charger, it will drop slightly. Take it out and it wont drop. I can put it in the charger and almost immediately it will show full charge vs unplugging it it may take 10 - 15 minutes to recharge fully.
I do take it out of the charger as soon as it's fully charged. In thinking back when I used it the first time I'm not sure it was fully charged but regardless 38 minutes is not enough time to complete both the front and back yard and since it's so bloody hot here in Florida most of the time I want to get it over with in one day.

Same here. I've had a Neuton mower for many years and have used it on a half acre yard. Now that I've got a much smaller yard it should be a breeze to mow with. I've kept the batteries indoors and charged them there; maybe that's contributed to they're lasting a long time.
