Hello all, I am new to this site and am very happy with the info I have read. I need some help with my Iris bed. I had to dig all of the Iris up to get rid of the Bittersweet that was choking them. I am going to turn over the bed and want to store the Iris for the winter. I have a cellar that I can put them in. They still have green stems on them so I am not sure where to start. I have them all in a crate on my covered porch right now outside. It is cold out now, I am in the Northeast......will they keep over the winter out of the ground?

The storing iris rhizomes is to wrap each rhizome in a piece of newspaper and place in a box. Put the box in a cool, dry place
