Could it be roadside aster. Normally the flowers are just white, but occasionally they'll have some pink on them.

Good call. That's an even more likely possibility.

OP, do you happen to be in Texas, and happen to have St. Augustine grass for your lawn? If so then that is probably roadside aster (aster exilis) - it grows all over North America but is a prominent bane of Texas St. Augustine lawn keepers.
