I have a plant pot in the garden that is 60CM Length, by 30Cm width and I was starting to grow Sempervivum / Houseleek in them. However, over night something has been digging up the soil and uprooting a lot of the Sempervivum .

Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe there is a type of cover I could use that allows sun and rain in but keeps the animals out? Any ideas would be appreciated!

A quick fix would be a screen 'tent'. Go to a hardware store and get a roll of the type of wire screen that is used on window and door screens for keeping flies out of the house (not plastic screen that can be easily chewed through). Get some bamboo stakes to put in the soil in the plant container around the perimeter of the container then wrap the screen around the bamboos stakes and over the top. The screen will allow rain and sunlight through and keep small animals, birds and large insects out.
