I live in North Florida. I am having problems with dollar weed in my St. Agustine grass. I have had my lawn sprayed several times with no success. I have resorted to pulling them up by the roots. This is will take a long time. A friend of mine use to live in California. He said he had a Japenese gardener who used granulated lime which killed the dollar wee because they want acidic soil. Has anyone every tried this? Thanks.

Proper irrigation is the key to dollarweed control here in NE FL
How often are you watering?
Dollarweed thrives in areas with excess water you will find it difficult to control DW in areas that stay wet or where there is to frequent irrigation.
What is your lawn guy using to spray ?
Herbicides containing atrazine can be used to control DW in St Augustine lawns.
Chemical control of DW is best achieved during the spring and fall while temps are still mild and the DW is actively growing.
More than one application is usually needed.

I do not irrigate very often. Lawn control people treated my lawn three times last season with no success. They probably just used water and charged me for it. I have been pulling the roots up. Maybe this will help. It is time to fertilize, so I think I might mix sugar in the fertilizer. Cannot hurt. Thanks.
