O. k. what do you think on a scale of 1-10??

The house is in the Sunset District of San Francisco.

The opening post in the below link provides are some pics taken before the landscaper did his thing.
Does this landscaping bid sound fair?

Okay I'm not too happy with the landscape either. So... I'm thinking of moving the rocks so they'll be next to the house. I'll leave the mulch and flowers where they are.

The trail of rocks going through the middle doesn't work for me at all.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm also thinking to replant the flowers next to the house.

Then cover the rest of the the area with the mulch.

I could either toss the rocks away or perhaps place them around the flowers.

Thoughts

I'd separate the rocks and mulch and use some kind of divider to stop the mulch from just burying the rocks during heavy rains. I'd also be a bit concerned about putting a bunch of rocks right next to the home. The previous owners of my parents home put a large rock garden next to the house and it seems to be a great home for insects specifically spiders.
Personally I'd either put the rocks in the backyard somewhere or just start over and place the larger flowers/plants in the back smaller flowers on the sides and make a rectangular shape in the middle with the rocks.

Okay I'm thinking to remove the rocks for now.

Then replant the flowers next to house. Next smooth out the mulch.

The area on the right side of the driveway wasn't raked properly before the mulch was put down.

I like the plants and the mulch. But I need to simplify what was done.

This landscapet would look great in a backyard but not the front.

Was that a professional landscaper? I wouldn't even rate it a 1. More like -10! It's horrible! Do you have pics of the back?

The "landscaper" should really come back out and fix it the right way. You have 2 areas near each other that should be a mirror image and they're not. The rock goes the same way on both sides and I notice plants aren't even in the same spot on the other garden.

Did you really pay $1440 for that? You got ripped off!

Is this the landscapers design? Was there discussion of what you wanted beforehand?

Biggest design defect is symmetry. Although I love the robbins egg blue rocks, not with mulch. Number of plants are unbalanced. Wow, I know you're in CA and costs are higher, but 1400??

Dont accept poor quality work.
Send some photos to the company owner before you change anything.

Agree.

Watching the video again I noticed he left the concrete blocks which should have been taken out and an edging installed so the mulch doesn't wash away

I'd put the rocks elsewhere. That's an extremely sloppy job.
