You have good taste. The only one I don't grow is Big Rainbow.

Which one of the slicing tomatoes have the sweetest taste? I don't like sour tomatoes.

I forgot one:

Paul Robeson. Personally I do not like this tomato but I have been growing it for maybe 8 years simply because I keep trying to figure out what all the fuss is about. However it is a gorgeous looking tomato (If I did watercolors I would challenge myself to paint this one) and it is very early for a slicer and it produces all season. Disease hits it, and it simply does not care. It is a tough plants To me, for a black it has a mild to bland slightly smokey flavor. I like my tomatoes to smack in the face and say I am a tomato not try and seduce me into believing they are one. It is extremely wet and seedy and I have to pat it with a towel several times to use it in a sandwich. It physically makes a great salsa, but lack the flavor profile. It is lousy drier. But as I said, it is early and dependable, it produces in low temps, and make a beautiful center piece.
And of course may people swear by it.

My first year with Big Rainbow. I believe this heirloom tomato is the one I often see at the farmers market for $3 a pound.

zone 8b - Sungold went nuts on my balcony last year. Going to grow them again this year. Thanks for the suggestions regarding Chocolate cherry. I'll try that one this year. You all inspired me to order seeds, so I just ordered the above on Etsy.

The hardest part is waiting to plant them.

Very little space here. Sweet 100 has always done really well. I will look for seeds for Chocolate Cherry.

FYI, Black Cherry is very, very similar and equally good. Compared to Super Sweet 100, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I grow Super Sweet 100 and Chocolate Cherry, they are very different, in a pleasing sort of way.

One thing about Chocolate Cherry, it ripens off the vine better than any other tomato I have ever grown.

If you have space constraints you might want to look into the Dwarf Tomato Project. I am trialing 13 of their varieties this year.

I'm in southwest Florida, right on the line between 9B and 10A. I'm trying cherry tomatoes this year; I have tried larger ones and they never really work out for me.

It may be the temperature. There appear to be some overall differences. Cherry tomatoes generally will fruit at much higher temperatures than slicers and beefsteak types. Thee also tend to ripen better than larger tomatoes at lower temps also.

A determinate tomato should be temperature agnostic in terms of production and will likely produce.. I would suggest you trail a semi-determinate also and see how that works out.
