Garage is to the left so I can't add a patio area ilsince there's little room to get in already. . Looking for something simple and kid friendly. Even if I just replace the tile with something. All suggestion welcome.

I think I can picture it but I’m not quite sure.
One of our houses had a thing like that that I made look really cool.
It was just a short distance between the house and the garage.
We payed down a bunch of sand and put in some amazing large flagstone with red grout that cracked.
Tossed in a multiple half wine barrel fountain and a Japanese maple with some lighting.
Looked really cool and received compliments.
It was just a small area but looked cool.
Pics?

Aha! I recognized that picture. Back at the end of last November you posted a similar thread looking for suggestions about curb appeal for your house and if I recall correctly there were some suggestions about the area near the steps. That other thread has the above picture in it as well as a picture of the back of the house too.

You abandoned that thread after you made your first post and never posted back or acknowledged any of the several responses that you got to it.

Maybe you had forgotten that you started that thread?? In case you did forget about it, or lost it and couldn't find it again, I'm posting the link to that thread in case you need some reminders about the suggestions that have already been made about your house:

Not sure what your looking to do but if that’s your main entrance than I understand your concern.

The roof over the door and flared star and rail is not very attractive but probably acceptable for a rear or side door. As a front entrance, I would remove and re-build the stairs so they are rectangular in shape and then construct side walls that come down under both ends of the roof, on both sides to frame and shape the front entrance and then a short rail on both sides from the cheek walls. That should really improve your curb appeal, IMO.

Ditch the steps and build a wrap around porch that winds around the side of your house.
