I have a Robellini Palm here in Florida (which i just planted about 3mths ago). IT HAS 4 STALKS and is supposed to grow to about 6 ft if kept well.
All of the stalks are doing well 'Except One' (pictured in front). The others all green and growing new branches...one is not; its BROWN and has lost all its branches (its not even producing new branches out of the top).
I was wondering if
-Should i cut the bad stalk down (in hopes of getting it to come-back)???
I don't know much about palms or their needs so hopefully somebody here with palm experience can ask you the right kinds of questions and then tell you what is wrong with it and what to do about it.
But just from it's appearance and with all the dead or dying leaves with browning tips I see I don't think that plant is doing well at all, it looks to me like it's at death's door. I don't see any part of it anywhere that looks like it's healthy, it looks like all parts of it are dying and turning brown.
Cut off the brown fronds. They are dead and serve no purpose.
Your plant may just need time to acclimate, and this may take until next year. Just keep it watered and hope for the best. Your soil looks pretty bad, so a few handfuls of a fertilizer for palms couldn’t hurt.
I think you may be able to post and get further information and advice from the International Palm Society forum. Here's the link to the IPS forums: https://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php
I'm wondering if the Cow Manure would be a Good Fertilizer right now ?
I COULD put a bag of it evenly around the tree and water it ?
?
Cow manure is 3:2:1 ratio, and Palm fertilizer is 3:1:3. The Palm fertilizers are slow release, over a period of time. Cow manure probably won’t hurt it, but it’s not ideal either.
As mentioned cut off the brown fronds and then try sprinkling epsom salts around the plant and water it in. Yellowing can be a symptom of magnesium deficiency.
I buy epsom salts for my palms at Walmart in the pharmacy dept. ($5 for 8lb bag). Good luck!
Contact the place where you bought it and ask them!
