I have one. started 4 years ago as a tiny shrub. it is now ~ 20 ft tall. They grow like a weed so I doubt they'll be set back at all if you plant them in the heat of the summer.

My question is could I plant them now with success or should I wait until cooler weather? It is still in the 90's and humid here in S.C. so I am not sure if they would catch on now or if I should wait. I don't want to wait until the dormant season when the leaves die.

I planted two (one on each side of my driveway) when I moved into this house. I love them.
I've never tried making cuttings or seedlings, but I would not plant a tree until the temps cool down to the 70's, at most.

Thanks for the replies. The temps have gone down a bit here but the ground is hard as concrete becaues of no rain. I am going to plant them as soon as I can get the holes dug.
