Late spring (mid March): I applied Crabgrass Preventer & Weed Control, it did not work out well.
July: I sprayed Ortho Weed B Gon, but it did not work out well. But it did kill some weed.
August: I was thinking about spraying Ortho Weed B Gon again, but did not do so. First, I was a little bit busy at that time; Second, I don't like applying Ortho Weed B Gon multiple times on the lawn during summer, especially I just did it in July, and grass is stressed during summer heat, not good time to apply weed killer twice in summer; third, I was planning over seeding in September (could be early September to late September, depending on temperature), August is kinda close to over seeding time.
Mid September(over seeding): I sprayed grass seed on the lawn, for bare spots, I did rake grass seed into soil and it has already sprout, but for most parts of lawn, I just spray grass seed onto ground (no tool to make hole on the lawn), I don't really care too much about sprouting rate. If a small percentage of grass seed can sprout later and make lawn a little thicker, then it is fine to me, that is my expectation, spend less time on it, with low expectation too (but positive expectation).
Back yard: There is still a lot of weed when I over seed the lawn (mid September), but I did over seeding anyway.
Question: I would like to take care of weed one more time before winter, the last time I mow my lawn is around thanksgiving. Since there is new grass, is it good time to apply weed killer in early November or late November? Ortho Weed B Gon or Fertilizer With Weed Killer ? I don't think those weed can die during winter, that could be the reason that Crabgrass Preventer & Weed Control did not work out well in March.
