I am getting green moss in many parts of my backyard. Will it kill my perennials, and how do I get rid of it?

High calcium limestone will help get rid of the moss. There are other options, ferrous sulfate, for example, but the limestone is safer to work with. Meaning there is less potential for you to make a mistake with limestone. As the moss darkens, you can rake it out. If its in a lawn area you may have to reseed. The moss will not affect your perennials, its more an indicator of soil conditions.

Yep. Acidic soil encourages moss growth. Get a soil test kit. Many NC counties will do the test for you for free. Check with your local garden center (not home improvement store). They might have a cheap one for you. Regardless, you need lime.
