Because I have to live in the space too so none of those industrial types they use to grow weed. UV exposure and that pinkish light no thanks.

Looking up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_rendering_index

Now I read what I thought from the start"
Can I use normal LED light to grow plants indoor?

Yes, plants will grow under normal LED lights. Grow lights aren't special – they're just strong. Bright light causes plants to grow, whether they're marketed as grow lights or not. They do need to be close to them though – the closer the better (without them burning)."

I would like to have this https://lm.solar/heliostats/

Heliostats are computer-controlled mirrors which keep the sun reflected on a target as the sun moves across the sky. Shines the sun into the window all day!

Not quite. It is more complex than power/intensity. "Grow" lights are designed to emit the part of the light spectrum most beneficial for plant growth. Sure, plants will grow under "regular" white lighting, but can they do so much better under a grow light intended to promote leaf formation, seedling germination, flowering, etc. As for the color of fluorescent light being annoying, depending on the LEDs selected, they can also produce a pinkish purple glow that bothers a person's eyes. I grow a few specialized succulents under fluorescent grow lights indoors because the climate here doesn't provide the sunlight and temperatures they need for most of the year. Someday I may make the switch to LEDs, but they're doing fine as they are. One benefit of the fluorescents is heat output. They want it!

I did an experiment, by accident last spring. I bought the LED grow light below, and used it to help start seeds indoors for my vegetable garden. Unfortunately I couldn't fit all of them on the same table, so I put another 6 plants under a fixture with two 60 watt equivalent regular LED bulbs. The difference was amazing, even within the first 4 weeks, so I started to rotate them. The grow light has different colors that promote better growth, and keep them from getting leggy. Next spring I'll get a second one.

I just sent that to my son and told and told him that I want to buy it, or something like it. He does terrific product research and I was hoping for a recommendation. Temporary insanity ensued. He told me that my electric bill would soar, so I sent this: https://hydrobuilder.com/learn/grow-...ty-calculator/. My estimate is $3.60 a month. He then told me that I was forgetting about delivery charges. Was this allowed in my rented house? What was I going to do when it bust into flames? Has anyone ever had a problem with one of these lights?

OP get daylight rated growing lights. Ideally 5800 kelvin degrees which equals sunlight @ 12 noon.

Tell him to research underwriters laboratories. They test stuff for safety and are really good at it. If its UL listed its all good.

thank you for this info.....I'll be starting seeds inside too this spring.

I bought something similar to this (below) at a local place...was not this much $$ and only has 4 lights IIRC but I thought I could string it over a table or shelf to get things going. If anyone has used these, comments would be appreciated. I may get one of your recommended lights and compare.
