Default Need another cactus ID please

Hopefully one of you experts can ID this cactus for me. Swung by a greenhouse on the way home and this one caught my eye immediately, so it went home with me. Of course the people working there have no idea what it is or where its native to, so thats where you guys come in.

Anyone know the genus/species as well as some basic care requirements?

I am almost certain the first one is an Opuntia, Prickly pear. The second one may be an Echinopsis.

Id tend to disagree, it doesnt have pads, but rather stalks that twist and contort.

The first one is a 'euphoria trigonia' var'. Lactea. Sometime known as a "Good Luck Cactus", or African Milk Tree. It is not a cacti but a succulent.

The second one is a variety of the cereus family. Looks like a possible baby 'cereus peruviana'.
The cereus family contains several hundred varieties of which many look very similiar. Their flowers can help identify it. The flower on top of your shown picture looks like an artificial one to me??

Your knowledge is invaluable, do you know that? Id love to give you some rep points, but I have to spread some around first.

And yes, I believe the flower is fake, it looks glued on. lol Not sure why some places do that.

Oh Nitraaaaaaaaam.

lol

Any idea what kind of prickly pear this is? Real waxy pads, not many spines, more spines around the base than on the pads itself, real thin pads, maybe 1/8" thick at best.

Looks like it might be a variartion of the family 'Opuntia argentinian'. A variety of prickly pear originating in South America. When blooms will have yellow flowers.
It's a specialty plant, generally for pots, grown by cacti enthusiats. It can have several names, even being named differently in California and maybe by another name in Florida. This is one cacti many growers will put their own name on it.

Where on earth do you get all this info? You must grow cacti on your own or have on helluva cacti guide.

Anyways, thanks again, Ill look into it and take a close look to see if it matches the genus/species you gave me. Have a good one!
