I had to cover my little garden today as we are having sleet, were SUPPOSED to get 6-8 inches of snow, nothing so far! Sure hope my sugar snap peas ,onions & lettuce make it! I have broccoli, zuccini, beefeater tomatoes, bell peppers & impatiens growing in the kitchen. Speaking of chickens, here are my chicks that I brought in from the cold coop. The heat lamp just wasn't keeping them warm enough. They are mostly Ameraucanas (Easter Eggers really) Buff Orps, 1 Black Austrolorp,1 Barred Rock,1 Rhode Island Red,and 5 newly hatched Rouen ducklings. They are cramped, but better cramped than frozen chicken nuggets!

Zuccini,tomatoes,impatiens

Broccoli

Do these look like Bell Peppers? My 6 year old helped me plant them,& some seeds got mixed up...

Babies...

We got the rain mixed with snow all day yesterday too. We don't need the moisture then other states are begging for it.

ksstorm, peas, lettuce and onions should survive low temperatures okay. I had some peas growing until December one year (in Vermont!).

I'm too chicken (oops -sorry!) to put mine out yet. They are growing wonderfully in the window, and yesterday was a snow day w/ blizzard conditions the night before.

So happy to join you all here from zone 8!

I have my tomatoes, peppers, squash, basil, rosemary in the beds. I'm starting carrots, cucumbers and green beans from seeds. I've never grown from seeds, so we'll see. We've had about a week of 70-80* during the day and 50s at night. Lots of nice sun.

Looking forward to spring!
