I’ve used several good websites for choosing paint colors, where you upload a photo of a room, and try out different colors.

I want to do a radical on my front landscaping this year, so I was hoping to find something similar where I can upload a photo of the house, then plug in different plant arrangements to see how they’d look.

Does anyone know of one?

That's a really excellent idea. I'm sorry I don't know of one but now you've suggested it I wish I did. I could definitely use something like that myself. If you do find one I hope you'll post it. I'll keep my eye open too. I hope somebody else knows of something like that.

I tried to find one a few years ago and none were free. Amazon had some but they didn't do the trick for me.

As stated above, I'm not sure any are actually free. That's not to say you can't use their programs to get an idea of what you want, as long as you don't finalize your design it should cost you nothing.

Thanks, I’ve been to the smartdraw site, but it quickly got over my head.
All I want is the front elevation of my house, so I can plan the height and position of shrubs.

What I’ll probably do is photocopy a picture of the house and move around cut outs.

I'm pretty sure I once used one of the exterior paint selector tools (Sherwin Williams?) that had the ability to incorporate different shrubs and plantings but can't seem to find that tool on line in a very brief search.

this may have what you are looking for but don't know if it's free or without a sign-up.

Thanks, that works.

I'm playing with it now getting the hang of it. It's free but if you don't have a FB account you have to sign up to Better Homes & Gardens to log in and use it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but unless I can put a picture of my house in, it doesn’t really help me with balance and proportion.

Try another well known garden website. I've seen people upload the pic of their houses and asked fellow members for ideas. Some actually use software to show what your landscape would look like with your house in the background.

According to the instructions you can download a picture of your own house to that BH&G program that Ghengis posted. There's a place for your pictures to be downloaded in the drop-down page that has the selection of houses in it.
