thanks for the heads up b52 , So far we have not has a problem with the pine bark I keep a pretty close eye on it along with our pest guys. But the minute I see somethign away it goes.
I love the look of pebbles but I change the garden every season so working around the pebbles is rough.

Actually if I had know how much it would of filled in I could of done no mulch.
Not sure if you saw the latest picture in my garden thread. you can't even see the ground.

Thanks for the nice words kimo , I love digging in the dirt

Yup riveree they are about 3 years old.
I use to have them in both gardens but the ones in the other bed froze so there were just a couple left so this year I moved them over to the other bed.
have to wear really heavy gloves when working with these. I have also seen white ones I may have to add some.
hmmm do I sense it is time we go plant shopping

Crown of thorns... One of my favorites! I had several in New Port Richey when I lived there. I still wish I had brought more of my potted plants with me to Georgia, but one whole Penske truck full of statues, birdbaths, iron gates, pots (empty), yard furniture, and several wonderful old faded cement flamingos that I had brought from California to Florida, were, as my partner told me through clenched teeth, enough. I can always tell when he means what he says... he prefaces it with "James..."

Haven't been able to locate any Crown of Thorns yet, though I admit I have not scoured the area yet. As usual, Lowe's and Home Depot here carry the same stuff carried in every Lowe's and Home Depot, all obviously grown in Pasadena, CA, or someplace.... This isn't a great gardening place here... and the nurseries are quite expensive. Starting to look at North Carolina....

What was that sound I heard? "James...."

More later!!!
