I'm going through my bulb supplier's catalog and saw a tidbit about using Giant Crocus during winter for your yard. From reading, it appears they start growing during Fall and Winter, finally blooming during early Spring. Once they start dying, it says you can move them with your first spring mowing and they'll be ready for next year without a problem.
Has anyone done this in the Phoenix area? I think it's an awesome idea and would probably look absolutely gorgeous. Some of my concerns are:
- Growing early enough to hide the brown Bermuda.
- Having a dense enough coverage to hide the brown Bermuda.
- Not killing them during the first mowing the following year.
