I have fought a mole (it is normally one as they are territorial and usually will not tolerate another in an acre of space) every year and they destroy much landscape. Moles primarily feed on earthworms so trying to kill off their food just destroys the environment. I have found no effective commercial repellants or baits.

The only sure way to control the damage is to kill them usually with a trap. Sometimes they can be run off by an aggressive dog or cat.

I have a large property with many retaining walls so it is difficult to set traps (but that is how I killed last year’s pest) but this year I am experimenting with moving it off with garlic stink bombs in the tunnels (I have tried ammonia in the past with little luck).

There is nothing funny or harmless about the tremendous damage a mole can do.

we have had moles and voles periodically in our home in the DFW area of TX--
currently we have moved out of that home into another one and are having some work done before putting it on market
I noticed last time I was in back yard that the moles/voles were back

we use the pellet baits that come in cones and you sprinkle into the tunnels
and we also use a liquid that hooks up to your hose that is sprayed all over the yard--
this is really castor oil--has nothing to damage plants or grass but the odor sinks into the dirt below the grass and flushes them into other yards---
you can spray and as it rains or the sprinklers work, the odor is washed into the ground...it last for about 2-3 months depending on each situation
it is fairly cheap because one gallon sprays about 10K feet of yard--we have a big corner lot and our yard guy used 2 and half gallon jars last week when he sprayed...
so I recommend both
the sonic things I think are probably not going to do you a lot of good if you have large yard and numerous critters...
our cat used to catch them sometimes (the voles) when they would come up for air--but that was just too spotty to really eradicate them...
