I lived all my life with creeping phlox...pinks...purples & bluish purple colors.
Also the stand up variety with pinkish flowers.

I never knew there was a RED stand up variety. It is just beautiful.
The hummers just love it, too.
I hope it spreads like the pinkish variety. I'm going to try and salvage every seed I can to re plant.
It was expensive...I can see why. Soon as I find it again...I'm buying it.

Anyone know anything about the red variety ??? Does it spread like the pinkish variety ?

Thanks

I tried purchasing a white 'David' garden phlox last year since it was supposed to be mildew resistant and fragrant, but it turned out to be a pale purple variety without any scent. I was very disappointed, though I have to admit it hasn't had any mildew thus far and the clump is much bigger this year. I returned to the nursery this year in hopes of getting the white David again, but all they had was a red Starfire. It was gorgeous and I now wish I had bought one. Maybe next year. I hope it's fragrant. I have no idea if it spreads or not. Sorry.
