I picked enough green beans for dinner and 2 squash plus a few handfuls of cherry tomatoes. We have lots of other maters about ready but it will be a few days. Also probably 5 or 6 squah and if the cukes mature, there should be a whole bunch in a week or so.
6 cocktail toms on the 4th & 8 yesterday... I'm happy.
The regular toms are getting big, can't wait until they turn red.
Those ugly green horned worms better stay away. Haven't seen any evidence of them yet...I better not.
At least I know I will get my revenge when they do show up...the chickens LOVE them. HA !
Does anyone have problems with them ? I don't want to use any chemicals on my veggies, so what do you do if they start showing up ??? Besides spending hours looking for them to pick off.
my grandmother used to cut them in half with scissors.
OK, a late response to a question from last year. Tomato end rot is caused by a calcium deficiency, there are commercially available sprays for the plants, or, some soil additives rich in calcium, any good agricultural store will be able to give you options.
My lettuce has been going crazy! I picked some more last night along with spinach and two wax beans. I'm waiting for the tomatoes to turn. Can't wait to try them!
I am picking peaches. I have bagged some of my grapes and covered with netting as some of them are getting ripe. I am picking a few strawberries but those nasty pill bugs are pretty quick about getting them too.
Well this morning I went out to pick squash and beans, but I was greeted by a snake. He was just a little guy, crawled over my foot: needless to say I came back in and didn't do any picking. I think I will give it another try in a few minutes..Snakes are my least favorite creatures. If they are good snakes, I know they will help my garden, but he was so fast I couldn't tell good or bad.

ps this Friday we will pick berries and peaches. Unforturately not from our own garden..
My daughter, granddaughter, and I picked peaches again today. I still have more. My daughter and I also got a huge bowl ready to be turned into cobbler, jam, or frozen.
