After the rain we find hundreds of little skinny worms all over our SW Florida lanai. They die, dry out and stick to the surface of the concrete. We think they are coming out of a planter. Any ideas about what they are and how to keep them contained?

I was sure it rains worms in Illinois LOL. I would like to know some reasons too. After a rainstorm, our swimming pool is loaded with those skinny creatures, Hundered sometimes and we cant figure out how they all get in there. There are just too many that they crawled from the grass and made their way all the way to the pool. There is a concrete apron around it too so they didnt just spill over from the grass, the pool area is on raised hill.
Raining worms,how awful !
Sounds like something from Moses

They come out of the ground in a heavy rain because the ground gets saturated and they have no oxygen.
