When exactly do trees release their pollen? Before leafing out, during leafing out or after leafing out?

How long does a tree release its pollen?

I am most interested in pine trees, but all trees are of interest.

Until it runs out of pollen. That depends much on weather conditions, wind, rain, etc.... .

I agree with the post above. Last week, for example, we had 80's and 90's which is very unseasonable. Everything popped and pines were done by the end of the week. It rained on Thursday and since then the pollen counts are virtually 0...at least on my car it is.

Some springs can be real drawn out and certain trees will release pollen while others won't til later.

Pines release pollen as the leaves emerge. That's pretty much common with a lot of large trees.
