My Pink Dogwood did not bloom this spring? (flowers, magnolias, butterflies)

I have the most spectacular Pink Dogwood that I have had for 6 years. It's a slow grower but every spring I have beautiful pink flowers and this year only 3 flowers are open at the top and not one bloom or even any buds for that matter. The trunk appears in good shape, no sign of disease or anything. Just no blooms. Any one else ever have the same problem?

It may not necessarily be a correctable problem. My yard has quite a few Dogwoods in it and our woods has quite a few more. At best, this year, maybe a third of them blossomed out. The trees all appear to be healthy, just one of those quirks of nature and the temp pattern this spring, Mother nature just threw most of them a curve ball, figuratively speaking of course.

Hey -- my dogwood bloomed (planted last year - 2 pinks) - but my Kwanzan Cherry and two "Butterflies" magnolias did not. All plants look very healthy and are leafing out beautifully, but for whatever reason - not a good year for blooms.

My 3 other cherries (all fruit bearing) and many other varieties of Magnolia (Bay, Sunsation, Alexander, Jane) did bloom or are about to..

I'm just going to enjoy their foliage and make sure they get lots of nutrients and water this year and perhaps next year - flowers!

We have six or seven dogwoods in the wooded area on our property and only three of them had flowers this year. We had a few very warm days and the trees sprouted leaves instead of flowers this year. I think that it was because of the unusual weather pattern. I missed seeing the blooms! They are so beautiful!
