He was born August 4, 1892 died October 17, 1918 and is buried in west Clark County AR in the Bethsaida Cemetery. I am posting because this is an unusual name for this area and thought someone may be interested.

Since posting this I have done more research and find his first name was not Lom, but Lonnie [Lon] and he was born in Clark County AR

Well, you tried. I came across some odd names in an old census recently. They were Chinese.

Don't smack yourself Slim! Some of those tombstones are pretty hard to read.

And you didn't even know it was YOU looking for him!

At one point, I hit a mental lull with genealogy. It happens. So I was bopping around find-a-grave and typed in Mason in Bedford County PA and saw someone had taken a picture of a headstone for Shannon Mason.

The name rang a bell.... and it was my great Uncle. Died in WW1. That energized me again. It felt like the past was calling me to find out more...

I just love those finds....

I wasn't even looking for this guy or his family. I was looking at some property for an out of state prospect and in my research found that the son of my gg uncle had an 1881 and 1883 Homestead on the property. That got my attention so I then found on the county map a cemetery about a mile away and decided to look at it expecting to find it abandoned because it is so far back in the boonies. Well, not only was it well maintained but there was a whole "cluster" of this man's family You never know what you will find even when not looking.
