More tribes are starting to do away with the blood quantum. White Earth Ojibway is one example. More of their children and grandchildren are marrying outside of the tribe and truthfully most tribal nations are so small that they HAVE to marry out. Also it's possible to be full blooded but not enrolled because that person could well be 1/4th of each tribe totaling up to 4 tribes and ineglible for tribal enrollment due to their blood quantum rules which is stupid because it's exactly what the government is hoping tribal nations will do...marry out or have babies with someone not of their tribe so that way the US government will not have to take care or have obligations to the descendants. Also don't forget many tribes adopted children due to their low birth rate (and a high death rate back in the day) and those children were absorbed into the tribe. Iroquois, Cherokee, Comanche...etc....had adopted children. Lots of the southern tribes...the ones living in Texas and Louisiana had up to 30% of their citizens not be Native American at all but they were taken children or stolen from other tribes, etc......Comanches, Kiowas, etc....I live 30 minutes north of Oklahoma and I've met quite a few tribal members and many of them aren't specifically one tribe anymore. Multiple tribes. I think it's an Oklahoman thing.
I seen a documentary on natives from the Amazon in Brazil. They are the last of their people only a few in the tribe. They marry their own children father, daughter -mother,son. Or they will be extinct. They stated they don't want to have incest but that's the only way it's not sexual it's to perserve their people. some die after the interview they fall ill .just having contact with journalist. They are so remote so isolated from civilization it's amaz
