After you click on the Census Schedule it'll try to load the image onscreen which doesn't work right now for me either. What you can do however is download the image using the download link on the upper right side of the page.

Too many people looking. Too few states released. No index yet. Why bother?
If you want to help, volunteer to index on the familysearch.org site.

I found the enumeration district (that seems to be the most difficult part) using the map that comes up with the search results. The map is also from 1940, so it might be more difficult if the area has changed much since 1940. Had to scroll through about 20 pages of the census schedule before I found my Mom. If you view the full page, be careful not to click outside the main box area (outside the scroll bars) because you’ll have to start over.
Massachusetts and Rhode Island are up.

Still had trouble with seeing more than first page of ED (total of 32 pages) using MS IE9. Switched over to Firefox and everything is working fine.

You can get the 1940 enumeration district here if you know the 1930 district. Then keep your fingers crossed that whoever you are looking for did not move.
Getting Started - 1940 Census
The GA district I am interested in is now up and loaded without a problem.
One of my families has moved.

I discovered the best thing to do is download the whole ED. The ones I am looking at are 30 to 35 pages. The download is fairly quick with my computer. Then you can look at the entire page at once and scan for familiar names.
I am using Google Chrome.

I took your advice to download the ED. Took an educated guess on that and I hit the jackpot within 5 minutes!
Thanks!!
