I am trying to look for any surviving children of my grandmothers birth parents who died in 1994 and 1996. I've tried to looking up an obit for them, but I can't afford a paid membership to the sites I've been directed to. I've asked for help on 3 different genealogy sites - Genealogy.com, ancestry.com and here, but no luck. Is there another way that I might be able to find this information without having to pay a dime and a leg to get it? My grandmother is 81 and would like to know if she has any sibling before she dies. For what it's worth, both obits are in California - Riverside County, and Orange County. I'm in Michigan and it's impossible or me to travel to California to do any leg work.
Thanks

Post the names of the people/families you are looking for, along with the dates of death and place of death, or send the information to me via direct message if you don't want to post it publicly. RESEARCHER

Contact the research departments in the local libraries, give them the names and dates of death, and someone will check the local newspapers for the obituaries.

I answer queries, etc. on some of those websites. Personally, I won't do searches for living people for anyone. It's a privacy issue, in my opinion.

I don't think sending someone an obituary is a search for living people. Yes, she wants living people in the end but a published obit?
