Long Beach/LA California Marriage/Death/Birth Records (search, database, free)

Anyone have a line on an online version of LA County's Marriage/Death/Birth Records? I'm looking specifically for 1900-1930.

I used the counties' walk up system at the department of records and liked it a lot. Unfortunately the specific marriage I was looking for has a date "somewhere" in the early 20th Century.

When I was there a few months ago they said they'd keep looking forward until they found the record. Unfortunately "forward" means to the end of the year specified. At $14 a search/per a year, that starts to add up very quickly.

Not to mention that I'm not exactly local and can pop in whenever I want.

I got my families Los Angeles marriage and death (1935-40) information through the genealogical archives in Sacramento.

I need divorce records. I think it was in 1939, in Los Angeles. It could have been 38. The 1940 census is marked with an M crossed out with a D with my grandmother, but they weren't living together the two years before. I know birth and death, and presume a divorce record would show the marriage date.

Have you looked on familysearch.org for a divorce index or database?
