I'm interested in getting one of these done. Has anyone ever got this done? If so where? and how affordable was it?

I've wanted to do this as well. I think about a year ago I saw it on the Discovery channel website for like 100 bucks. I wanted to do it but couldn't part with the 100 bucks at the time. Now I can't find it. Let me know if you do please.

My sister and I had one of these done to check for genetic mutations or whatnot. THey're really simple to get. It just takes a while to get the results back.

I'm definitely going to order a kit for myself. I know my ancestry includes Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino, Spanish, Basque, Cuban, Puerto Rican and French lines, so it will be interesting to see them mapped out. I just wish they could trace my father's line also. I gather that test is only for males.

I'm going to order a kit for my brother as well. He was adopted at birth also and has been trying to find out information on his ethnicity and his birthparents.

I have been interested in doing that also. I have been working on my Genealogy for over a year and I found out that my 12th great grandmother is Catherine Cary, who is supposedly the illegitimate child of King Henry VIII, but DNA is the only way to confirm it.

I am planning to do what ProLogic is inquiring about as well.

There are several mysteries in my family------especially on my maternal grandmother's side.

EDIT: I just sent away for two kits-------one for each for my parents' family trees.

My known heritage is Hungarian, English, French, etc.
