Looks like they're ready to have a relaxing cigarette in a few more minutes!

Great picture!

Well, well, well Tracy, as many times as I have looked at that (original) photo, I had never noticed that bag of Bull Durham hanging out of his mouth. You sharp eyed booger you

That's a great one! At least there's no more leg-humping involved!

I just found my grandmom as a teenager with a monkey in 1934. It was evidently some kind of roadside attraction at a family vacation lake area. But the picture is way too blurry and overexposed to scan and upload.

I found some more doggie pics I'll have to scan, and one with a toddler feeding chickens.

Hopefully this will not be too far off topic, but I think a follow-up of Slim 60 years later will be O.K. Slim ended up in Arizona as a working cowboy, and as you can see in the photo, still liked dogs. The dog on his right is Pepper, his cow-dog, and while riding and herding he would talk to Pepper as a human, givng him instructions and direction and Pepper would follow them better than a human. Slim said he had rather have Pepper helping him than another cowboy.

My grandmom in 1919 with the family's chickens.

My grandmom and other little girls from the Clementon NJ area in a pageant for the opening of the newly paved White Horse Pike, early 1920s.

Grandmom circa 1934 as a teenager, with friend's pony, Bonnie.

Breaking my own rule, since this is after 1950. But it's my dad as a kid with his dog, and their cool-looking car.

ca. 1933 East Pike County Arkansas. A family of "city folks" was visiting us on the farm and Marie wanted to ride a horse. I posted earlier that FOX in San Antonio TX did mail order film processing of our photos in the early 1900s. This is on the back of Marie's photo. It appears the stamped numbers are ID for the film roll.
