That's not quite true. I'm female and have gotten tons of information from the tests. Most tests today are autosomal, which gives you information on both matrilineal and patrilineal sides, and the bits I don't have about the Y-DNA, I already have the genealogical information for, so it's not a problem. I'd like to someday get one of my birthbrothers to take the Y-DNA test, but if they won't, that's okay. I don't need to know my father's exact haplogroup to be able to figure out how our ancestors migrated.

19% Southeastern Asian (mother)
