Lol, everyone related to me on 23andme seems to run as fast as they can from me when I tell them that I am only half Jewish. They get snobby REAL fast. Now I can see the hell that my parents must have gone through.
I have hundreds of Jewish relatives on there, and am sharing with many of them. But I don't put my picture on the site.
That is funny. You even see some of that on here sometimes.
We always thought we were just plain old white, Dutch and English. Ancestry dna told us there's Scandinavian, Finnish, Irish, and Iberian in the mix. Woohoo. Still white and European, but at least we know where that Spanish-sounding last name came from!
Back to the point the OP made, my wife is like 99.9 Northern European with .1% Unknown according to 23andme. She never logged into 23andme again after discovering that the rumors she was part American Indian were possibly untrue.
Not sure why you mention putting your picture on the site?
I'm of African origin. But because there are so few African people on the site, most of my DNA relatives come from my non-African ancestry. In some cases, not all, people do not want to share or contact relatives of other races. I have had that happen to me.

My picture is on the site and I have never experienced anyone not wanting to communicate with me due to my race. Matter of fact, I sometimes get people reaching out to me to see if we are related or for general genealogy chat.
