Many speculations have been made on the origins of Fulani people since they have ambiguous phenotypes. Here is a 23andme result of a Fulani individual. It's important to note that one result is not a good representation of the entire ethnic group being that Fulanis are a diverse set that span a wide region. However, this result is gives some insight.

Outside of the Middle eastern & North African ancestry percentage, it looks like what would probably be typical of a black american ancestry results. Still it's interesting if these are the results of someone who presently lives in Africa.

Where would that European ancestry come from? Don't these people mostly live in the southern parts of the Sahara desert? I bet those are probably just more middle eastern markers. The test results are becoming more refined with time so maybe this will become more clear in the future.

Cool find though.

I would think some population that had Southern European and MENA ties. It could be an old Semitic source.

Awesome results, i've always thought that their caucasoid ancestry were a little bit more similar to berbers rather than europeans.
