Still, like several of us have indicated, if you can provide a name, approximate dates he lived and geographic area, those of us with much more searching experience would be glad to go digging. Since the person is not your relative and is long dead, there would be no privacy problem with posting his info here. If you cannot, at least DM us.
I have years of searching experience from the people forum and other forums.
Some genealogy is a different animal or all of you would be on the people forum.
Techniques are different but can overlap at times. Obituaries and their use is one of them.
I have never before used Ancestry except for 30+ minutes on Sept. 4th and likely will not use it again.
I can consider a DM to a long time member in the coming days. I was asked not to post on any forums. The group started with 32 names on the current project and we are down to 5 so that can be interpreted in any way anyone likes. Ancestry was used on only one of them.
