It's a great resource if they have papers from the locations and time periods you need. It really depends on your research. Check the list of papers to see if they do or don't have papers you need: List of over 7,000 United States Newspapers By State - GenealogyBank

23andMe's "ancestry only" test (no health report) is currently $49 per kit when you buy 2+ kits: https://www.23andme.com/?utm_source=...m=thanksgiving

So basically, it's a buy one, get one free offer. You still have to pay about $100, but you get two kits instead of one. Unless you buy 3 or more, of course...

Family Finder at Family Tree DNA is 20% off - $69. You'll still pay shipping, though. https://www.familytreedna.com/

The same kit is on sale at Living social and you'll probably save a few bucks. https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/f...a-1-1-national

If you order DNA; Topcashback and ebates give 7.5% cash back with each test. Join both sites then shop online like you normally would adding items to your cart. Once you're done open top cash back, type in the store/ website you're shopping at; it will give you the cash back link, next, hit your ebates cash back browser button, once activated go to your cart and check out. It's that easy.

Top cash back

Ebates - has a button you can add to your browser, thats the easiest way to use it.
I'm seeing the Ancestry DNA kit for $79 when clicking my link above. I'm not sure how long it will last

Find My Past has some free searches, including Irish Catholic parish registers. Appears to be free on an ongoing basis.

Find My Past has a deal for $1 for 1 month - be sure to untick "auto renew" in your personal details (not subscription details) if you don't want to get charged the full amount next month: https://www.findmypast.com/november-...FUMD0wod2j0Gdg

findmypast.co.uk also has the option of non-renewed pay as you go payments. You buy credits, use them up, then have no obligation to buy more. Believe the US site findmypast.com has similar.
