Yeah, I heard something like 100 cases got uploaded to Gedmatch after the success of the Golden State Killer.

Here it is: https://www.buzzfeed.com/peteraldhou...b0#.irZXQXZVnb

I'm excited to see how many of them can be solved.

They'd be fools not to use it.

One of my friends has been making calls to see if killer DNA can be used to do this in a few Doe cases we follow, one the brutal rape of Walker County Jane Doe, we're hoping DNA from recently identified Buckskin Girl/ Marcia King will also make someone pay for her death, same with Caledonia NY Jane Doe/Tammy Jo Alexander's killer where they do have some sort of DNA. I own her FB page, asking my partner to call her LE to see if he's going to get in on this too. Nothing more then I want to see her killer arrested for murdering her a few days after her 16th birthday

3 men tested for DNA match in Tammy Jo homicide - By Gary Craig - 8:44 a.m. EST November 10, 2016
DNA testing shows that a male genetic sample on the clothing of Tammy Jo Alexander does not match three men it was checked against.

Livingston County Sheriff's Investigator Brad Schneider said an FBI lab sent the results to the Sheriff's Office last month.

"We do have the DNA results back from the lab and we did not come up with a match," he said.

This was not a complete surprise. Law enforcement asked three men who had known Alexander to provide samples. There was not evidence linking them to the November 1979 homicide, and the three men each agreed to provide a DNA swab for comparison.

I hadn't logged into Gedmatch in a while and did so recently and saw they updated their Terms and Conditions based on law enforcement using the database. Even though I'm not a criminal, it makes me uncomfortable some of the terms so I'm going to delete my account with them.

I honestly just don't trust law enforcement with DNA evidence.

Well, law enforcement is a governmental agency, therefore, yes...I could see there being privacy issues, hence the update on their Terms and Conditions. Forewarned is forearmed.

If my DNA can help find a violent criminal, more power to them.

My results will stay on GEDmatch, 23AndMe, and FTDNA.
