A couple of posts have mentioned the names "Baby Girl" and "Baby Boy" appearing on hospital or birth records. This isn't usually the intended name for a baby. It's often the result of a birth occurring before the parent has decided on a name for the baby, such as in the case of a premature birth. Other possible reasons for this include: when a mother is giving up the newborn for adoption; when there is uncertainty between the parents over whose last name is going to be used; when a baby is found abandoned; or when the mother dies during childbirth.
My grandma knew a guy who's parents couldn't decide on a name. They Said "Shirley" if the baby was a girl and "Joe" if he was a boy. They had a boy. The birth certificate (and his legal name) ended up being "Shirley Joe"
My dad's name was Cleston....my gmother said she didn't remember every hearing it, just made it up. We've never seen another Cleston except one in our hometown whose mother "borrowed" the name.
My niece's daughter named her first child "Sir Rune Eldon _____". Dad's name is "Sir Rasce Eldon ______". She calls her son "Rune". Granny calls him "BJ" for "bundle of joy". "BJ" is what most of the family calls him, too. As an aside, the state they live in refused to issue a drivers' license to a "Sir Rasce Eldon _____". even when he produced a birth certificate. His drivers' license says just "Rasce Eldon _____".
A Sooner player has a daughter whose name is, Nevaeh, HEAVEN backwards.
