Does anyone know what Y-DNA and mt-DNA lines or hap-groups and percentages European Americans fall into? Or for that matter African Americans as well. Since both have admixture regarding certain SNP's I was wondering about those other two genetic markers.

Don't take what I say as a fact. I think Y refers to the male line and the mt to the mothers.

Yes, but I wanted to know what percentages Europeans had non-European Y or mt - DNA as well as African Americans - any info out there?

My father's line goes back to colonial times here in the new world and came from Western Europe. However, my y-dna is G2a-P15 which is found in less than 5% of Western Europeans and is most prevalent in the Caucausus region between the Black and Caspian Seas as well as in Turkey. How I inherited this rather than the more conventional R1b of most Western Europeans, I haven't the foggiest. Perhaps a captured slave or soldier from the East back in Roman times?
