Great uncle in Korea, great uncle in WWII, great-great-uncle in WWI (got to hear him tell some stories about it, which was pretty cool for a 10-year-old). Beyond that, nobody in any American wars.

World War II, Viet Nam, Indian Wars, thats is all I know of anyway. My first cousin did two tours of duty in Viet Nam, then was blown up by the bomb (s)? in the Murrah Building Bombing. That was just not poetic justice.

I'm the only one--unless you count my STEPfather. He served in the Navy during Vietnam.

that I know of: Yamasee War, American Revolution, American Civil War, World War II.

i know that i have about a half-dozen ancestors who fought for the confederacy, in the civil war. we still have 2 of the original "Southern Cross of Honor," like you see here.

i know i have at least 2 ancestors that fought in the revolutionary war; one was a guerilla in Gen. Francis Marion's outfit (DuRant). another fought under Gen. Thomas Sumter in the revolution, and was granted a large parcel of farmland/swampland in SC that we still own today.

WWII, I have a great uncle who was in the OSS (predecessor of the CIA) and served in Italy. I have another great uncle who did underwater demolitions, who died recently. My grandfather who is still alive was an airplane mechanic for the USAF during WWII, but did not fight.

As far as my geneaolgy goes, the earliest known (a distant relative, Joan of Arc) in the Hundred Years War.

Next, through that lineage was a soldier from North Carolina who was a Lieutenant General in the Revolutionary army of the American Revolution. Having Lee's in my family also entails a "Light Horse Harry" Lee from Virginia as well in the American Revolution. Not to mention I have one member on my other Grandma's side who was a militiaman at the battle of King's Mountain, SC/NC.

The son of Light Horse Harry was Robert E. Lee, which is part of my mom's side' family legends, Highest Ranking General in the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, that would mean his two sons who also fought would be relatives of mine as well (Confederate too.).

Next up on my Dad's and both Grandpa's, Grandma and Step-Grandma's sides of the family we have several in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
