Thanks for the translation! I wish I had acess to Saxony historical records and/or had even a basic knowledge of businesses at this time. Of course I can't read German anyway.

Maybe a 19th Century German Tabacco Historian would help.

LOL, sorry, I don't know of one . Have you tried the Genealogy Society? If I remember correctly, they meet regularly in Plainview.

But if you need something translated, I'd be glad to help (within reason ).

For me personally, no.
But I'm first generation, that may be one reason - no one in my family came here before me, and records for Europe probably are not all complete. There were a lot of wars, and I'm sure many records were destroyed as a result; after all, everything was on paper--burns easily .

Probably depends in part on where the ancestors came from.

Informative in what way? They have literally billions of records in their database but you have to do the work to find the right ones and build your own tree. They have some helpful advice on genealogy but ultimately, they are just a records database, they can not tell you things like "this person was the father of this one", you have to deduce that on your own by analyzing the records they provide.
