Default Alright, need help again, routing Seattle WA - Ridgeville, SC

So, we were moving at the end of Dec, but housing woes kept us from going, so now we have an absolute move date, 3/12.
When we were leaving in Dec we were taking I-5 to I-10 to I-95 to avoid weather (we will be driving 2 trucks with 2 horse trailers.) Is this still a good plan for March, or can we take a more direct route at that time of year? I'm looking for easy driving without getting stuck in a blizzard. My husband wants to make the trip in a week (we have to stop overnights for the horses) so he wants to take I-90, but I'm thinking Montana sometimes gets spring storms, right?

Your departure date is in the middle of the heaviest snow season for much of the Rocky Mountain range, as well as other portions of your route.

The best you can do is to watch the weather forecasts close to your trip and to keep tabs on the road reports in the states you'll be traveling through. Plan your trip accordingly as close to your departure as possible.

Will you be stopping at horse facilities overnight enroute? I've found those to be a good option, where I had a place to unload my horses, exercise them, and get them out of the trailer for at least overnight and in stalls with good bedding/food/water.

That's what I thought. My husband seems to think it will be 60 and clear all the way across the country, but I thought spring was the most unpredictable time to travel...
And yes, we'll be stopping at horse hotels along the way. My plan is 9-10 hours of driving with 15-30 minute refueling/water breaks a few times daily and then at least 10 hours out of the trailer.
