Whats a reasonable price for loaders and Unloaders? I rented a Pod and will have them loaded up instead of a full mover. I was quoted $125 for 2 men with 2 hours then $45 each additional hour. Then to my moving city which is in the Midwest, another set of Unloaders are charging $115 for 2 men 2 hours and $50 each additional hour. I also had a quote from another company that charged $453 for 2 men for 2 hours just to load!

Yep. Moving is expensive and it is all over the place. Do not make the mistake I have done twice now...and lesson learned....do not go cheap. Get professionals. It is worth it.

The $115-$125 for two men for two hours sounds about right. They will probably work really hard for those two hours. If I recall correctly, the last time I moved it took them about an hour or less to load a lightly furnished three bedroom house that was already completely packed up (including 83 boxes of books). They really got down to business and worked hard.

People often tip them a few bucks, also.

The bid you mentioned that was over $400 is more than I would pay.

I tipped mine $20 each a couple of years ago. I also beat the unloaders to my new location and had many of the smaller boxes off the truck before they got there, so saved myself the worry of going over the two hour time limit and having to pay additional fees.

How do you find loaders and unloaders? We are senior citizens and will be moving cross country with boxes only shoved into two cars and a hitched uhaul trailer.

We just paid about $95.00 an hour for two guys. Well worth it, in my opinion. I tipped them $25.00 each.

Well, I am pretty tight with my money and not inclined to be a big tipper (in restaurants, I tip between 10%-20%, for example). They did a good job, though, so I gave a $20 bill to the lead guy, and told them to split it between them.

I think that the amount that you tip, or if you even tip at all, depends on you and on how good a job they did. If they had a bad attitude and did a bad job, I might not even tip them at all.

You can also get loaders or unloaders locally, by calling local moving companies.
