Call the moving company - you can have them pack it up when you're leaving (and make sure they do so carefully), store it until a 'busy season', and then deliver it to you later. Or make the arrangements to have it sent later and leave it with family until then - or send it ahead and have someone at your destination hold it for you.

Agree with Uship, you can ship a couple items via freight truck pretty inexpensively.

I just shipped a very heavy safe this way.

definately dont use a uhaul trailer or truck my brother and I both were moving from ky to fla and something on the uhaul trailer broke and they left us broke down on the side of the road for 12 hours and by the time we got another trailer we were into the next day making us late to meet our deadline for a rental and boy howdy were we mad and we also got nothing from uhaul not even an apology so naturally I am not a big fan of uhaul . I never had any problems with penske anything truck wise or no major problems ever .. so I would run from uhaul .. take care and good luck on your move .
