We are moving in a month (corporate relo) and we're getting our movers' surveys later this week, but I'm purging now - do I need to empty and box up the contents of dresser drawers and tv cabinet drawers and cabinets or will the movers just wrap up the whole thing intact and transport that way? Thanks!

This is from Packing Tips - Tips for Packing Your Home for a Move - United Van Lines

"Empty drawers of breakables, spillables, items not recommended for inclusion in your
shipment and anything that would puncture or damage other items. However, blankets,
sweaters, lingerie, bath towels and similar soft, lightweight goods may be left in
drawers

I asked my mover and he indicated that the drawers needed to be empty, so I guess you will need to check with them as to their policy.

Both of our movers echoed Reed's post - clothes and soft things are fine, they will wrap and haul (I was worried that makes dressers too heavy but apparently not). They don't want anything with any heft or sharp corners in the drawers, tho - apparently bouncing across country can cause the bottoms of drawers to get broken.

Thanks for your help!
